Question:
Honorable Dr. Mohammad Rateb Al Nabulsi,
Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh,
We are students who live and study in Russian Federation. The daytime here is very short, which makes the intervals between the Zuhur, Asr and Mughrib prayers only 15 to 30 minutes. Moreover, all of these prayers occur during our university study hours. What should we do? Should we delay these prayers and make them up later (Qada'), or should we combine them (Jam')? Would we be sinful in doing so?
May Allah reward you with all good on our behalf.
Answer:
In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the best of messengers, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the truthful, the trustworthy, who fulfilled his promises.
Dear brothers, you shouldn't delay them, but you may combine Zuhr and Asr Salah, and combine Mughrib and Ishaa' Salah either Jame' Taqdeem ([Advance Combination]: Praying the second prayer early during the time of the first prayer) or Jam' Ta'kheer ([Delayed Combination]: Delaying the first prayer to perform it during the time of the second prayer).
